  Home The Minirth Christian Program, provided at Big Creek was developed and founded by Dr. Frank Minirth, nationally known Christian psychiatrist. The program is founded on the 7 Steps from Dr. Minirth’s book “Happiness is a Lifestyle” re-released in 2007 and “Happiness is a Choice” released in 1978. The system is owned, operated, and managed by Hearts of Love Ministry, Inc., a nonprofit Christian ministry. Big Creek is a Christian program with a goal to strengthen the spiritual beliefs and practices of the Christian client in his/her family, church, and community. The Minirth Christian Program provides a broad and balanced approach to care integrating biblical principles with proven professional staff to assist in the healing process. Our goal is to work with executives, pastors, and Christian workers to rejuvenate their “spirit and soul and body” so they can feel strong physically, can gain strength emotionally, and can be encouraged in the Lord spiritually.

Our purpose for the Minirth Christian Program at Big Creek of the Buffalo River is a Christian Retreat that is dedicated to promoting growth and achievement for an improved quality of life while protecting the rights, dignity, welfare, and privacy of our clients. The spectrum of help provided ranges from those who just want rest, relaxation, and fun to those who want help with various emotional, physical, and spiritual issues. Our dedication is providing quality care in a kind, nurturing, and Christ like environment so that every person we encounter may experience a manner of life with purpose and with new found hope. With renewed conviction the desire for a fulfilling and healthy life may be achieved. The Minirth Christian Program is a Christian treatment program. The program strengthens the spiritual beliefs of the Christian client, family, church, and community. This approach is based on the Biblical truth that God created each person for health and fulfillment of spirit, mind, and body. The Minirth Christian Program believes Christ is interested in each person and that He provides solutions to our problems when we seek after Him. The Minirth Christian Program uses the application of God's Word to life's situations. The program takes Biblical principles and makes them come alive and real in each person's life. Then the person is encouraged to take what they have learned in coaching, mentoring, or therapy and practice it in their daily lives. The Minirth Christian Program provides a broad and balanced treatment approach. It strives to provide clinically sound and caring treatment while meeting the personality of each individual.

• Treatment Program
  Treatment Program The Christian treatment program provided at Big Creek Ranch was developed by Frank Minirth, M.D., a nationally known Christian psychiatrist. Dr. Minirth personally oversees the treatment and progress of each client on a daily basis. He directs the professionals at Big Creek Ranch in developing a personal treatment plan for each client based on three key components: 1. Psychotherapy - coaching and mentoring provided on an individual, daily basis by licensed professionals; 2. Psychopharmacology - individual medical treatment plan directed by Dr. Minirth which includes medication management and input on a healthy lifestyle of diet, exercise, vitamins and natural products. As needed or required, other consults with a local Christian psychiatrist, internist, general practitioner are available; 3. Psychosocial - Our environment often dictates our outlook on life. A positive, restful, beautiful setting can almost immediately lighten our burdens and provide a path to healing. Big Creek Ranch is located on mountainous bluffs with gorgeous, majestic views. Daily activities include swimming, fishing or floating in the crystal clear waters of the Buffalo River, hiking, horseback riding or visiting local attractions. • Admissions
  Admissions A preliminary interview is held prior to arrival at Big Creek. It consists of a brief phone interview with one of our trained staff members. At the end of the phone interview it will be determined if we can meet your needs. If accepted, an appointment will be set when needed for an evaluation with Dr. Minirth at his office in Richardson, Texas. The evaluation with Dr. Minirth will further determine if our facility will meet your needs. Once approved by Dr. Frank Minirth you will be referred back to our facility for admission into the program. No formal interview may be needed with Dr. Minirth for those simply renting for rest and relaxation. There are two prices according to the level of service: 1. Minimal service without retreat program – Rental Only- $195.00 per day for 1 person $29.00 extra for each additional person per day. There is a minimum of a 3-day stay for rentals only. 2. Full service – $495.00 per day / per person in the program There is a 1-week minimum stay for the full program.
